Gaurav Makode (born 5 December 1997) is an Indian entrepreneur and digital media professional from Multai, Madhya Pradesh, based in Bhopal. He is the founder of Taptitech Digital Media Works Private Limited, a digital publishing technology company, and the co-founder of DigiWire, a platform that helps local businesses manage their Google reviews and online presence. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Omroots, a director at Founder Salahkar, and the president of the Tapti Samagra Foundation, an environmental organisation working on the conservation of the Tapti River.

Early life and education

Makode was born on 5 December 1997 in Sarni, in the Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. His hometown is Multai, the town at the origin of the Tapti River. He completed his higher secondary education (Class XII, Mathematics) at Government Excellence School, Betul, and from 2015 to 2017 prepared for engineering entrance examinations at Aakash Institute.

He earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science from Sagar Institute of Research, Technology and Science (SIRTS), part of the Sagar Group of Institutions, Bhopal, between 2017 and 2021. He then completed a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Computer Science at the University Institute of Technology, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (UIT-RGPV), Bhopal, from 2021 to 2023.

Career

Early career

During his undergraduate studies, Makode completed a digital marketing internship with TechSimPlus Learnings in 2020. From January 2021 to February 2022 he worked remotely as a full-stack developer with Newton School, a Bengaluru-based education technology company, working mainly with Node.js.

Taptitech Digital Media Works

In June 2022, Makode founded Taptitech Digital Media Works Private Limited in Bhopal and served as its founder and chief executive officer until October 2024. The company built a newsroom management and revenue optimisation system for digital news publishers and content creators, providing tools for sourcing, distributing and monetising content.

Under his leadership, Taptitech worked with more than 900 news publishers, whose combined websites reached over 800 million page views per month. In 2023, Makode was among the publishers invited to Google’s office in Gurugram for the Google AdSense Top Publishers in India event, and two publisher networks operated under Taptitech were reported to be among Google’s top 30 publishers that year.

DigiWire

In December 2024, Makode co-founded DigiWire in Bhopal, where he leads product architecture and technology development. He designed QuickReview, a QR code–based system that allows customers of hotels, restaurants, hospitals and clinics to leave Google reviews with a single scan, helping local businesses improve their Google Business Profile engagement and local search visibility.

Omroots

Since June 2025, Makode has served as the chief executive officer of Omroots, a spiritual products brand. He has focused on expanding the brand’s business-to-business and direct-to-consumer channels through digital and performance marketing, including growth in markets across South India.

Founder Salahkar

In July 2026, Makode became a director of Founder Salahkar, a Bhopal-based advisory venture.

Social and environmental work

Since January 2024, Makode has served as the president of the Tapti Samagra Foundation, a grassroots organisation working on river rejuvenation and ecological sustainability along the Tapti River in Madhya Pradesh.

Under the foundation’s initiatives:

  • River clean-up drives have removed more than eight tonnes of waste and plastic from the Tapti River.
  • More than 1,000 trees have been planted along the river banks over four years to increase green cover and reduce soil erosion.
  • Local communities, students and volunteers have been involved in environmental awareness and long-term conservation programmes.

The foundation’s plantation and clean-up activities have been covered in regional newspapers.
